Other Accounts: Spellstar //&& Yuki
Name: Seekpaw
Age (in moons): Eight
Clan: RiverClan
Rank: Medicine Cat Apprentice
Gender: She-cat
Appearance: Seekpaw is quite plain and drab when it comes to appearance. She is a standard gray tabby of average build, and the common white on her chest and paws. The only 'mesmerizing' thing about her is her eyes.
The she-cat's eyes are large, and a shocking light blue. They are highly reflective, more than the average eye-lenses of cats. The slightest amount of glare cat make her eyes light up like the green-leaf sun. This is a very precise detail about her, however, as most cats are not likely to notice.
She is of average build, and seems well proportioned for her age. Seekpaw isn't overly fast or strong, due to her lack of warrior training, but is quite sharp when it comes to her senses.
Personality: Seekpaw has always been a relatively cheery she-cat. She tries to keep a straight face when dealing with serious conidtions, such as other Clans or addressing the leader. She was never much for jokes, which makes her act a great deal older then she actually is. The cats higher ranked in the Clan seem to note this and respect her for her mature attitude. This promotes her behavior, so Seekpaw isn't likely to change her ways to please his fellow apprentices.
Seekpaw, when she was young, was faced with black-cough. Though hse survived, the disease seems to have left some permanent damage on her body. This is another reason she doesn't play with others, for fear of a coughing fit taking over, as it did when she was in warrior training.
Seekpaw has very good memory, making it easy to memorize herbs. She is a bit scatterbrained as well, in which case she easily loses track of the herbs, and quickly misplaces things. This is one of her many downfalls.
Seekpaw, though she tries to be friendly with others, isn't overly social. She finds other cats annoying, even if most cats would not consider them this way. The reason for this is unknown, but it could have to do with her slight arrogance. Despite the fact that she was at first reluctant to take the position, Seekpaw is quite proud of being Medicine Cat Apprentice. She feels herself above the other apprentices. This is a bad quality in her social life, which is limited to the medicine cat and a sparse few other cats.
History: It was a chilly leaf-fall day when a litter of kits was born. ThunderClan was suffering a terrible disease at that time. What had originally been a simple sickness that attacked select elders had spread to the entire Clan. The epidemic was near impossible to avoid. Only the strongest warriors had managed to stay clear of the disease. Medicine cats called it the worst out break of black-cough ever.
The litter of kits that were born at the time had been completely untouched by the disease through their first week of life. There were five kits, which was an unusually large litter, especially under the current conditions. The mother of the kits, Ambertail, was positive that they would all survive.
By the time they could walk and talk, at about two moons old, she had already given them names. Rubykit, Snowkit, Glarekit, Shadowkit, and Seekkit. All of the kits were very unique.
Seekkit, however, stood out quite a bit. She began predicting events. Such as, a rain storm, or an argument at a Gathering, or even things as deep as the likeliness of another cat falling ill. Unbeknownst to Seekkit, almost all of the cats she figured would be sick ended up dying of black-cough less than a week later.
---
"Are you sure you feel alright?" asked Seekkit axiously, eying Snowkit and his mother. "Yes, Seekkit, we feel fine." Ambertail and Snowkit seemed perfectly fine, but Seekkit seemed intent on proving that they had the dreaded black-cough. "But... You two are sick... I sense it!" The small she-cat seemed insane.
"You're crazy..." growled Snowkit.
The two didn't believe her. Not one bit. Seekkit, however, was indeed correct. Shortly after their conversation, the two became ill. Snowkit tried to ignore it, and played with his siblings anyways. Seekkit kept her distance, not wanting to be infected. Ambertail allowed the other queens to tend to her kits, not wanting to spread her disease to them. She stayed in the medicine cat's den. Seekkit visited her often, as well as the other kits.
Snowkit soon died from the disease, and by the time this happened, Rubykit and Shadowkit had been infected. Glarekit and Seekkit seemed fine. Ambertail, despite having black-cough, was still alive.
Rubykit was next to pass on to StarClan. After that was Ambertail. Seekkit and Glarekit also came down with the disease. Shadowkit had passed on, and the Clan was left with two ill kits out of a litter of five. Warriors had already dug holes to bury their bodies in. Things were looking quite grim for the two.
The disease, eventually, seemed to be lifting. In the last week of its run, Glarekit passed away. Seekkit, however, lived on. She was named an apprentice shortly after, when the medicine cat deemed her well enough.
It was noticed almost immediately that if she pushed herself too much, she would break down into coughing fits. Seekpaw had these fits continually when training, and they began to come sooner and lasted longer as time wore on. Eventually, the medicine cat claimed that she was no longer fit to train for the warrior position. Instead, she would train to be a medicine cat. This way, her life would be put in no real danger, and she could still be of some use to the Clan.
Seekpaw didn't seem overly thrilled about this, but, considering her remarkable ability to predict future events, and her strong bond with StarClan, she was a perfect, if not the only candidate for the position. With her help, the black-cough disease was completely terminated from ThunderClan by the time Seekpaw was six moons old.
