Deathfeather, and of course, Phantomstar
Name:
Shatteredeye
Age:
39 moons
Rank:
Warrior
Clan:
Thunderclan
Gender:
Tom
Appearance:
Fur:
Shatteredeye has black fur with orange that looks as if it had been spray painted onto him. In other words he is a tortoiseshell cat, which isn't all that common in males. He has as thin scar stretching across the tops of every paw from him self-abusing himself during his 'depressed' stages. He also has fairly rough fur, allowing it to be, for the most part, free of the tangles that often plague cats with softer fur. He has mid-length fur, about the length of an adult grasshopper (1 1/2 inches - 2 inches). As well as that, the left side of his face is dominated by orange while the right is dominated by black. His chin is a creamy orange, almost like an orange cream-sickle ( or however you spells it). His tail ends in the same light orange; as do his feet, but his front left and hind left have 'socks' that extend to about the middle of the leg.
Eyes:
Shatteredeye has light green eyes, with flecks of darker green near the pupil. Though the pupils usually expand during darker hours, his left pupil remains a slit. This is due to his near-drowning in which he suffered brain-damage. The eyes glint silver when light shines on them, and they always seems to hold a playful laughter in their depths. Though often fun-looking and happy they can be intimidating and frightening when he becomes angry. His eyes tend to become slightly darker as he angers and lighter as he becomes more light-hearted. Shatteredstar's pupil's are black, like most others', but his left eye's (afflicted by everything is it?) pupil is halfway gone. That's right, gone. It's bottom is jagged and rough, and fades back out to the green about halfway through the eye.
Build:
Unlike most Thunderclan cats, Shatteredeye is awfully small. His brain-damage has contributed to this as well, as this stunted his growth during the most important time in his development. He has thin legs, and is lacking muscle; his growth stunt during adolescence contributed to this as well. He may be lacking in the muscle department, but his thin legs and slim body helps with his speed. His legs are out-of-proportion to his body, and his torso is fairly short (from head to tail). He is tall, but maintains a small presence around other cats of his clan, considering they are much larger in comparison to him.
Other:
Shatteredeye's teeth and claws have been known to some as 'daggers' or 'spears' as they are very long and thin. They are strong, for the most part, but the teeth on his left side (left side again) are much weaker than those of other cats. He only has a couple teeth remaining on that side of his mouth, making it hard to chew or bite. His claws are affected in the same way, weak on the left side, strong on the right, so his weak side is (obviously) his left side. His tail is thin, under all of it's fur. You wouldn't know though, because it is very fluffy and noticeable. He is unable to father kits as well.
Nightly Appearance:
Shatteredeye looks much different at night. His eyes seem to sink to a very dark green, even if he's not angry. His fur looks as if on top of a larger body, but it's just the way he melts with the darkness. As stated earlier, hi left pupil doesn't grow larger in the dark. The moon reflects eerily off of his eyes forming an iridescent glow.
Short Description:
A small, out-of-proportion, tortoiseshell tom with green eyes.
Personality:
Kits:
Shatteredeye thinks of kits as, mostly, annoying, but fun. He loves that fact that their so young, they'll take risks. He finds they match him in that area, as taking risks is pretty much all he does. Who wants to climb a tree and jump off? Shatteredeye. Who do the queens think is a hazard to their kits? Shatteredeye. He's been trying to form kits into more little risk takers as best as he can manage. Their constant complaining and whining and crying does tend to get on his nerves and, at times, he's very happy that he's not able to father kits. Though, at other times, he's sad that he can't father his own kits; he'd love to see them grow up to be like him.
Apprentices:
Shatteredeye is pretty much in love with the apprentices. They're just the right age where they don't complain every living moment, and he can still mold them to his own will. Their light-heartedness allows him to feel more comfortable being himself. He finds he enjoys their company more than that of many older cats, just because they aren't as stern and serious as the other warriors. Shatteredeye fits in well with the younger cats, due to his lack of physical stature and his fun-loving personality. The apprentices are fond of him, though they believe he can go a bit overboard on the risk stuff. He spends more time with this group than any other.
Warriors:
Shatteredeye isn't a big fan of the warriors, though it really depends on their attitude. He'll enjoy time spent with those that are more humorous and of the weirder type (like random and stuff, not strange). The older warriors are normally stuffy and too serious for his liking so he doesn't like spending time with them. The stuffier and the more serious the worse, in Shatteredeye's opinion. The younger warriors aren't too bad, as they tend to be more apprentice=like. He'd rather hunt with less experienced and less-serious warriors and come back empty-handed than hunt with experienced and overly-serious warriors and come back with loads of freshkill.
Medicine Cats:
Shatteredeye is very curious when it comes to the medicine cats. More than anything, Shatteredeye is amazed by their natural talent. He can't believe that they are so able to preform their duties, gathering the right herbs, administering the correct treatments. He just doesn't have the attention span needed for such exact tasks. Much of his respect is aimed toward these cats, as he doesn't understand their world. He's very grateful to them as well, considering they've healed him many times.
Leaders and Deputies:
Shatteredeye can be a little pushy when it comes to leaders and deputies, though his playful attitude seems to allow him to slide away, un-punished. He has this uncanny ability to sway their feelings toward him, it seems. He does respect them, as he knows he'd truly suck at the organizing and structure they form in the clan. He doesn't necessarily hate them, but he does sometime have a disliking toward them. It really depends on what kind of mood they are in. If they are too serious, he'll dislike them. Not so serious? He'll be fond of them and get along.
Elders:
Shatteredeye finds the elders absolutely not tolerable. Always stuffy. Always complaining. They're worse than kits. They can never take things lightly, in his eyes, and seem to never be humorous or anything of the like. He avoids them at all costs, and tries his best to ignore them if they talk to him.
Cats From Other Clans:
Shatteredeye doesn't really care that cats are from other clans. He'll befriend them if he wants to and has befriended some. He won't fall in love with a cat from another clan, as he doesn't want to beak the warrior code like that.
Cats Without Clans:
Shatteredeye's feeling toward outsiders are rough. He dislikes them with a 'burning intensity' and hates it if he even hears word of one. He absolutely despises them. He'll kill if he has to, but would still rather let them go. He's not a very killing person, or cat I should say.
Overall Personality:
Shatteredeye is a fairly light-hearted cat, with a rather wild side. He doesn't have much common sense when it comes to himself, but he tries to keep little ones safe. He is kind toward those that aren't stuffy and sometimes rude to those that are. He is a risk-taking cat that has done and still does what some would call 'too many stupid things.' He is an out-going cat and not afraid to make cats laugh or smile.
History:
Kit:
As a kit, Shatteredeye was a rambunctious little youngster, always zooming around with too much energy. His left eye was born with a strange pupil and he was often teased for it too. He slipped on some ice in leaf bare and ended up with a cracked bone in his leg. The medicine cat promptly set the bone so he could get back to walking as soon as possible. He doesn't even suffer from its effects to this day. He would climb bushes and trees and once wandered over the Thunderpath and into Shadowclan territory alone. He was brought back to the camp in the swearing mouth of none other than the Shadowclan deputy. Both clans weren't happy with him.
Apprentice:
He was a fairly good apprentice, but was too hyper for his first mentor who flat out quit after a moon with him. His second mentor struggled, but eventually managed to calm him to a point where he was tolerable. Shatteredeye was tricked into falling into the river by a fellow apprentice and got his paw stuck under a rock at the bottom...
Shatteredeye felt his paw slide underneath a boulder as his head slipped beneath the water's rough surface. It caught under the rock, trapping him without air. His lungs felt like they were shriveling up, dying actually. He felt weaker and weaker, and then his vision melted to black. He passed out.
After that incident, he suffered brain damage due to lack of oxygen. His left eye doesn't expand or contract and his growth was stunted. He became very depressed, as he wasn't growing into the warriors he'd wanted to be. He looked funny, awkward if you must, and seemed clumsy to some cats. He began purposefully ripping open the tops of his paws, in attempts to ease his own emotional suffering. Eventually he grew out of it, learning every one has their flaws. His just happened to be different.
Warrior:
Shatteredeye became a warrior very late, in fact it took him nearly twice as long as a normal apprentice. His growth stunting made it difficult for him to learn new fighting moves, and he had to learn a completely new style just to fit his body. He was often sad during these times, rarely smiled, and hardly ever laughed. Well, he's changed a lot since then, learning to live with his 'disabilities' and living with them so they become 'abilities.' His attitude has brightened and he's back to his normal, 'I'm gonna kill myself in the craziest way possible!' self.
