((This is a sample from when Bristletail accidentally crossed into the Shadowclan border. No one knew why he did it, until now! The embarrassing truths, everything!))
Bristletail chased after a rabbit, panting heavily. He was far behind the fast creature; he was fighting a losing battle. Just a little father, just a little faster. The rabbit bounded away and out of sight. Bristletail kept running although he was tired and out of luck.
Catching the pungent scent of the Shadowclan border, he slowed to a reluctant halt. Pacing angrily he stiffened as he caught sight of the elusive rabbit. It was a few fox-lengths away from him, nibbling delicately on a dandelion. It was so close! It seemed as if the rabbit couldn't see him. The wind was in his favor, blowing the delicious scent full in Bristletail's face and making his mouth water.
Bristletail was stuck between his burning desire to stalk the rabbit and the knowledge that the prey was now Shadowclan's. He tasted the air uncertainly. A bad idea; although he scented no Shadowclan cats he could almost taste the rabbit now. It was pure torture. He was supposed to abandon his one and only chance at catching a rabbit? Bristletail had never caught a rabbit before, something he was deeply ashamed of. He was too slow and his pelt was too noticeable in the long yellow and green grass of the Windclan fields.
Here was a chance to achieve one of his goals, and he was maddened by the smell. Okay, this was it. Carefully crossing the border, Bristletail's whiskers twitched in foreboding. He edged closer, closing the gap between him and the rabbit. Timing his pounce perfectly he landed perfectly. His yowl of triumph was cut short though. Bristletail was just as surprised as the rabbit when something pounced on him.
