Spellstar sighed quietly. In ordinary conditions, such a kit would be fiercely punished, and an apprentice ceremony would surely be held back. But is Ghostkit's case, one could reason with his fury. Unbeknown to the white, glowing tom, the cat Spellstar spoke of was not at all related to him, in no way other then personality.
"It doesn't involve you... Do not concern yourself with my affairs..." Spellstar's voice quivered a bit at the end, sorrow ripping him apart. The black tom turned his back on the younger cat, face in the corner of his den as he had been earlier. "... As for your... Reputation... You can fix that on your own..." He gently flicked his tail in Ghostkit's direction, dismissing him calmly. The leader prayed silently that he would just leave; drop the topic. 'And as for your apprentice ceremony...' he thought. 'I doubt you should be expecting an early one, with the way your acted out now, against the warrior code. On top of that, if one of my warriors should catch you hunting... Well... There should be a punishment for that as well...' Spellstar, of course, didn't say this, hoping to avoid conversing with Ghostkit any longer.

"I am sorry, Spellstar. I did act out a little rash." His unusually deep voice boomed in the den. "It's just that....my past...It's..." He looked away from Spellstar. "I don't liked it talked about, and any infomation I can get I would kill for." He bowed his head, frowning. This was not an act this time, though, he did suspect because of his outrange his preposition on n early ceremony would be revoked. "I meant none of it, great leader."
Ghost looked back at Spellstar. "Please forgive me." Saddness filled his eyes.

"Just go..." he said quietly. Spellstar lowered his head into the shadows. He needed time to think, time to think about everything that was going on in the Clan. Poor Metalpaw had no mentor, Ghostkit would be having an apprentice ceremony soon, Frostberry had newborn kits, a Gathering would be soon, he was falling behind in his duties as a leader. On top of that, Spellstar had not been getting enough sleep, images of his fallen comrades holding him awake for countless night hours.
Ghostkit had to understand something. Clan life was hard. It was difficult for everyone, from kits to elders. There was risk of losing close friends, going without food or water, attacks from foreign predators, conflicts with other Clans. Everyone faced difficult things, and every cat could probably dish out a sob story. Spellstar, however, intended to keep his bottled up. No one had to know, it wasn't like it involved any of them anyways, which was probably the only problem in his past. Spellstar just wanted to forget, but some cat always had to bring it up again, and this time, it was Ghostkit.

Ghostkit looked at Spellstar mournfully one last time before slowly tortting out of the den. He turned around and opened his mouth, but said nothing. His leader needed some time alone, he probably had his own problems to work out besides Ghost's, and he knew that being leader could be a burden, many had said his father was a retired leader of RiverClan.
Ghost quickly denied it. How? Wouldn't he be more respected that way? Wait. Maybe his father was a bad leader, an evil leader. Maybe his mother was from another clan and his father was a warrior, or even deputy of Riverclan and they were executed. All of these possiblilties crossed his mind multiple times.
"I wish...oh I wish." Ghost stopped a few tail-lengths away from Spellstar's den, staring at the moon. "I wish I knew....."

Spellstar's ears perked a bit when he overheard Ghostkit, but chose not to speak. Almost at the same time, images of his father crossed his mind. A stunning, white tom. Muscular, warrior-like, and yet he had been banished from his Clan. The reason was quite ridiculous, his father had refused to fight a friend in another Clan in a war. It wasn't against the warrior code to have allies in other Clans, almost all of the cats did. One couldn't be suspected to fight a comrade, and yet, the leader brutally tried to force his father to do so. Spellstar wasn't ashamed, though. He felt proud, that the noble Whitefang stood up for what was right, he stood up for his friends. That was exactly what Spellstar had done too... But it didn't exactly turn out the same for him.
