Ghost trotted into the leader's den cautiously, just in case he was sleeping. He didn't know why he gave him that sort of special treatment but he felt he should. "Spellstar?" He called out, no answer. "Spellstar! I would like to consult with you. I am Ghostkit." He said again, hopefully drawing his attention with his name. 'Let's hope you don't talk down to me this time.' Ghost growled.
He walked in farther, the den was rather large and warm, he shivered from his quick transition from the cold night to the warm darkness of the den. Maybe he was out? No. Of what business would he be out this late before, the moon is high in the sky. Unless...maybe Shockwave got here first. Well, he kinf od hoped for that. Confronting someone he secretly hated with a burning fiery passion wasn't wasy for him.
He held his silence, waiting for the RiverClan leader to appear. 'I hope he doesn't turn me away. But, it would give me more ammo to use against him for his dowfall. Spellstar was a well respected cat, even by the other clans, and very busy usually, so he may be turned away, but it was peaceful and had been for some time so he doubted that possibility. "Spellstar?" he called out once more, hoping to hear him call back. He's hate to have come out here for no reason.

All was quiet, except for Ghostkit's calls. The den was silent and motionless for a while after the last call. Spellstar flicked his thin, black tail, showing that he was there. Since it was so late, it would be difficult to see the jet black leader in his dark den. The slender tom sat straight up. He had been laying in the dark, thinking about who-knows-what.
His pale, gray-lavender eyes glittered as light from the moons shone in through his den. Spellstar blinked, looking over the young tom. 'Hm... Ghostkit... Odd. Kits don't usually come in here...' The leader blinked slowly, then nodded with mild respect towards the large kit. "Good evening, Ghostkit... You... Want something...?" Even in the presence of a mere kit, Spellstar was still quite quiet. His gaze was soft, almost as if he regretted being cruel towards Ghostkit all of those moons. Yet, somewhere in the back of his mind, the tom still held spite for every tip on the white kit's pelt... There was just something about him that he couldn't help but mistrust.

"Well..." the kit was reluctant to reply to the Leader of RiverClan. "I was just in conference with Shockwave, about my apprenticing, he accepted to be my mentor. He had a good suggestion." Ghost carefully placed his words, trying to impress Spellstar, maybe trying a little too hard. "I was wondering if I could have it a few days early, so I can be an apprentice for the Gathering. I have not been to one and I had hoped to be an apprentice by the time I did go." Ghost was nervous around the leader, and he honestly didn't know why.
Ghost stepped closer the the near-invisible black cat. His coat was glowing slightly still from the little moonlight that shone. His odd-eyes shone easily, one a deep cerulean blue and the other a vibrant and deep green. 'He better accept this or I might claw his eyes out...' Ghost thought, almost growling. "I know it may be too much to ask but I am the only kit approaching six moons. The closest kit to my age is 4 moons, as far as I know." Ghost looked away from Spellstar. For some reason, he was incapable of looking in his eyes.
The large kit shifted his weight, uncomfortable in the leader's presence. "I think I am entitled to something after what you did to my reputation within the clan." He said in a calm, matter-of-fact tone. He hoped this would not offend him, but pressure him into giving him the early ceremony, but it was meant to. "And nobody should mind, even though some of the clanmembers still think of me as a treasonist." Ghost's tone didn't change, though a small smile flashed across his face.

Spellstar detested how he was being treated. Not only was the kit trying to guilt-trip into allowing this, but also treating him like a figure-head; a leader. He had never wanted to be leader. It's not like it was his choice, anyways. The previous leader chose him for reasons Spellstar still didn't understand. He wasn't even a true-blue RiverClan cat, had no confidence, and no qualities of a good leader. But what was he to judge?
Spellstar let out a heavy sigh, closing his eyes for a moment. "Well..." Spellstar started, but stopped. He opened his lavender orbs and gazed outside his den. "I'll... Consider it... I believe I should have a word with Shockwave... I understand about you being... older... then the other kits... So I might make an exception..." Part of him was dying to apologize to the kit for everything he had done to defend his Clan from this kit, even if the kit was no major threat. 'I never meant to hurt you, really!' the slender, black tom thought, not daring to say that out loud. 'I just wanted to protect them...'
Spellstar flicked his tail again, thinking about the Gathering. It would be nice for RiverClan to announce another apprentice, proving their strength to the other Clans. He didn't mention Ghostkit's arrival to the other Clans at the Gathering, trying to prove that they were sticking to the warrior code. Whatever happened, Spellstar knew that he had to do what was best for RiverClan, not for himself. They needed a new apprentice, anyways. Metalpaw, on that note, would be a warrior soon, and a Clan with no apprentices would soon just fall apart.

"Shockwave? Of course. Last I saw him was when he confronted me at the river. I had just killed a mou-" He stopped himself, knowing he had said too much already. He mentally slapped himself, figuring now his chances at apprentice were doomed. "I uh....mean..." He tried to make up something. Kits were forbidden from hunting. Ghost looked away.
"Please do..." He nervously flicked his tail. "I would be honored, Spellstar." He dodn't look back ar him, he couldn't. He wondered why Shockwave didn't punish him for it, let alone Rippledance. "When is...the gathering?" He gazed towards a rock near Spellstar, making it look as if he was looking at him. "The moon is only a fourth dark, in a few days, maybe?" Ghost's eerie glow got a little more pronounced as the moon rose higher.

Spellstar watched the kit. He was curious as to what was going through Ghostkit's mind. The leader chose not to say anything about the smaller tom's hunting comment. The situation had to have been pretty awkward for the kit already. "The Gathering will be in... About a week..." the slender tom mewed.
The tom paused. He glanced out of his den, towards the Warrior's den. "Shockwave was out there...? He usually isn't out late because... of... his..." Spellstar's voice drifted away. '... His injury...' he finished silently. Spellstar looked at the sandy flooring on his den. A question had been running through his mind for a few moons now. It was a perfect time to ask it. Even though it was a bit off-topic, Spellstar felt he should. "... Ghostkit..." he said hesitantly, voice quiet. "... N-Never mind. You can go now..." The leader turned his back on the kit, head hung low. It was clear that he was just about done talking.

Ghost trotted over to the turned leader and put his paw on his hip. "No, tell me. What is wrong with Shockwave? I think I deserve to know because he will be my mentor soon enough." Ghost was empathetic, but also curious as to why Spellstar was avoiding him at all costs. Ghost was actually sort of hurt because of this.
"And what is wrong with you? You seem to be trying to avoid me." He had no clue why but he was actually worried about the RiverClan leader, it scared him. How would he be able to kill him if he got attached to Spellstar? 'Stop it' his mind yelled. But something, something in the back of his head said not to stop, to be worried.
"Is this because of how you ridiculed me, made me an outsider in my own clan?" he spat, pure venom filling his words. He calmed fdown from his slight outburst. "It's alright...I guess. It happened many moons ago. You were trying to protect your clan. I understand, leader." Ghost bowed his head, taking his paw ooff of his hip. He was suprised with himself, and his darker side wanted to jump off of the gorge. But he wouldn't. maybe being nice and sucking up to the leader would make his plans much easier.
'All in due time.' he reminded himself.

"Don't call me that..." Spellstar mewed, referring to being called 'leader,' his voice barely above a whisper. The slender tom turned to face Ghostkit again, sensing that he was confused and angered. He was dying to tell Ghostkit everything that had happened to make him so protective, but the black cat couldn't allow himself to tell anyone. It was better that no one knew. In about a year or so, all cats knowing his history would have died off, and he wouldn't have to defend that information any longer. But as for Shockwave's issue, well, Ghostkit did have a right to know.
"... Shockwave has a leg injury... He has had since he first became an apprentice. Despite Seekwing's protests, I... I allowed him to be a warrior... It is very serious, but he... always seems so confident that Seekwing and I... Agreed... Not to tell him the... uh... Full extent of his injury. We do not know if he is aware of this or not..." Spellstar made a good effort avoiding Ghostkit's other questions, trying to mask his own past. He was dying to tell the kit he was sorry, to explain everything. He had wanted to do that many times before, but never worked up the nerve to tell any cat.

"Don't call you what? Leader? You are. Why not?" His inquisitive nature taking over, knowing there was something the tom was trying to hide. "I did notice him shifting his weight to the left a lot. Does anyone know why he has that injury? And why couldn't Seekwing heal it? Seekwing saved my life from near-death...a twisted paw should be pretty easy." Ghost knew the answer to his question; he was lucky. Very lucky.
Ghost adverted his gaze back to Spellstar, feeling he could look him in the eye now, though it was difficult. "Spell...I mean, Spellstar, what made you not kill me all those moons ago? I do understand that I was suspected of high crimes, though just a week old, but I was not put to death. Why didn't you?" Ghost had been meaning to ask Spellstar that question multiple times, but couldn't because he was afraid the leader might have changed his mind and would probably kill Ghost on the spot.
The moon shone brighter, making him glow brighter. Sometimes he liked it, made him feel special and sort of intimidated predators. He had even escaped some rogue cats that way, but he thought of it as luck. Ghost thought for a moment. It was sort of funny, he has been an extremely fortunate cat. Maybe his name should be Ghostluck when he was appointed Warrior.
((OOC: I like that name xD. Would I be able to use it?))

ooc:// Sure thing. =3
---
Spellstar opted not to answer Ghostkit's first question. Giving out personal answers was bad enough, but going that deep was not a wise idea. Perhaps when Ghostkit was older, he might give him an answer, but for now... As for the second question, Spellstar shook his head. "Seekwing tried, but there was nothing she could do. Herbs and tender care were not... enough to fix something that... serious..." He sighed, another thought on his mind. Something of a troubled expression flickered through his pale, lavender eyes.
The final question through the leader off. Spellstar turned his gaze towards one of the walls on his den. That was not a question he was expecting at all. "... I guess... Well..." he stuttered quietly. "... You might not... think so... But I'm not a cruel cat... Even though I wanted to protect them... I couldn't bring myself to have you killed..." He sighed quietly, silently scolding himself for using the phrase 'them.' Too personal, not very formal like a leader should be.

"I see..." Ghost paused momentarily, thinking. "Think you could somehow clear my reputation? I mean, if I am to become a respected Warrior...." He trailed off, almost embarrassed. He bowed his head and stared at the floor. His off-eyes glossy, almost crying. "Not cruel? No. Possibly just heartless." His voice had diminished to almost a whisper.
He perked his ears up, noticing Spellstar missed the first question.
"Leader, you didn't answer my first question. It may be too personal, but who would I tell? I told you, I am an outsider in my own clan." He emphasized. Ghost was trying to guilt him into telling him everything. Everything he needed to know to speculate and reorganize his plan. Ghost walked toward Spellstar, just maybe a few inches from him, now staring at him intently. His inquisitive self was probably beginning to annoy the jet-black leader, but he ignored the thought.
'A week...' he thought, not adverting his gaze from Spellstar's pale lavender eyes. 'I can't wait....a week. That's all, so short and yet it seems such a long length of time.' Ghost softened his expression. He knew he was going from thought to thought, almost forgetting about his question to the RiverClan leader. What could it be? Maybe he wasn't a born RiverClanner? No...he had the features as far as he knew. Ghost let out and inaudible sigh.

"You're so much like him..." Spellstar whispered, his voice barely audible, in a whisper. He closed his pale eyes. It was very clear that he wasn't very ready to spill his secrets. He sighed slowly, and opening his eyes. The slender tom narrowed his eyes a bit, sorrow and pain ripping through them. Since the small tom wasn't going to leave without an answer, Spellstar decided to give him... Half of the story.
"I never really wanted to be leader... I just wanted to be away from... Everything else... Here in RiverClan... I only wanted to live a happy live..." he mewed quietly. Spellstar substituted many phrases for less descriptive ones, trying to give as little information as possible. The black leader's eyes glistened, as if he was saying, 'Happy now?' He didn't want to be in this situation any longer. 'All I ever wanted was to forget about them... But... Everyone keeps bringing back those damn memories... Why?'

Ghost concentrated, listening to every detail. His eyes widened. "So much like WHO?" Ghost stepped foreward and slashed the air in front of Spellstar with his claws. "What have you been hiding from me!?" He yelled, louder, his voice echoing in the den. "If it is about my past I deserve to know!" His eyes were raging with anger. What right did he have to keep something from Ghostkit? Especially about his past.
He ignored his other statement. It didn't matter, this was Ghost's torn past they were talking about. "Like who?! My parents!? You better tell me now or I will kill you where you stand!" Ghost's voice was full of hate and agony. Torture and sadness. Just because he was a kit didn't mean he was not old enough to understand. He swung his clawed hand, missing Spellstar by mere millimeters. He didn't care what he thought. His authority and respect as a figure-head were moot point here. He needed to know.
"Now!"

Spellstar narrowed his eyes at the kit. He would not tell anyone about them, especially not this kit. Not even the few elders who knew of his whereabouts knew about those two, and he made a good effort for it to stay that way. No one was to know anything about his old comrades. "No," he said calmly, firmly, without stuttered. "You will leave, now, and not tell anyone about what you have heard."
He was slightly taken aback by Ghostkit's threats to kill him. Surely a five-moon-old kit couldn't hope to take down a well seasoned tom over twice his size? It was a daunting thing to think about. Spellstar was curious as to what was going through Ghostkit's mind, openly threatening the leader of his Clan with an army of practically mindless followers who would carry out his whim without question. It wasn't very smart, considering Ghostkit's very apprentice ceremony teetered on Spellstar's decisions.

Ghost could not stop, would not. His mind had gone dark, filled with more hate for the RiverClan leader. "I will not! I deserve to know!" His blood-filled rage made him temporarily insane, why?! "No wonder you don't like to be called leader, you're a pathetic one. Not even telling a little kit his own past. I was ridiculed by you, by the clan. Correct your grave mistake. Spellstar. Tell me. Now." He had calmed down, walking closer to him.
"I apologize for being so hostile. But the thougt of the leader, the one who is supposed to protect us and lead us keeping a critical piece of my past hidden from me angered me beyond comprehention." Ghost sat a mere inch from Spellstar, their noses almost touching. He stared into his pale lavander eyes with his odd-eyed ones, blue and green. "Please....this would mean more to me than becomming a Warrior." Ghost pleaded, bowing his head until his whiskers lightly touched the ground.
"I don't want to feel like an outcast anymore. You caused it but you can reverse it. Tell me....please...please..." He closed his eyes as he pleaded to the RiverClan leader. Most of it was an act, though. He needed to know, maybe his parents would help him kill Spellstar and Rippledance, or even Shockwave if he did not approve of his plans.
