I finally decided to update Rippledance to this site!
Name: Rippledance
Age: 47 moons
Clan: Riverclan
Rank: Deputy
Gender: Female
Other Accounts: Shatteredeye
Other: 1 Top Member Award
Appearance
Fur:
Main Colorings, etc.:
Ripple dance is a tri-colored cat with white, orange and brown patches of fur. Her belly is a white color and is longer than most of her coat, just a tiny bit off the ground when she walks. Her back and the upper half of her face is covered in a more tortoiseshell-like pattern, but the left side of her face is dominated by orange rather than being mottled. Her tail is covered in fluffy strands of brown with hardly any orange in its midst. Her ears are brown for the most part, but the tips are more orange and the insides are white. Her paws are all white and are often stained with mud or her prey's blood.
Texture and Length:
Her fur is about a mouse-length long other than her underbelly. The fur around her face is far shorter but gets ever-so-slightly longer around her whiskers. The fur on her underbelly is soft, but as you ascend her body the fur seems to get rougher and rougher. It is unusually rough around her paws, which doesn't seem to fit in with the trend of her fur texture. It is also easily tangled in the softer parts, but stays fairly straight and tangle-free in the coarser areas.
Scars and Such:
Info:
Rippledance has multiple scars which could be considered unusual for a cat that seems girlish and weak. This isn't true though. Rippledance is a very vicious fighter and due to that she has multiple battle scars, but that isn't the only reason for scars. When she was a kit her two older brothers would literally beat her to the point of unconsciousness and near death. It would take a long time to describe all of her scars in detail so we'll do a quick run-over.
Head:
Rippledance has quite a few scars littering her head area; most were thanks to her brother but a few had interesting stories. The most noticeable scar in this area is the one that runs all the way from the top of her head and down under her jaw on the left side. This was from a terrible blow dealt by her brother Frozenpaw. Her right ear's tip hangs down, flopping onto the lower part of the ear, as it hangs by a mere bit of skin. Medicine cats have told her to just rip it off, but she finds it a trophy of her triumph over a badger. She will not remove it. Also, her other ear has a rip near the base, which tends to remain a reddish color, despite being many moons old. Another scar runs from one side of her face to the other in a nearly perfect straight line. That was from her run in with a rogue while she was an apprentice.
Legs and Tail:
Rippledance has numerous scars on her legs and tail, all from her brothers' cause. There are claw marks running the entire length of her left front leg. These were from being dragged by her far stronger brothers. There are also plenty of bite marks on her tail, and you can probably guess how those got there. One or two are a bit more noticeable, as the fur near there decided to recede, so she has a couple 'bald' spots on her tail and they look quite goofy in contrast to her long fur. One of the toes on her right hind leg is practically bitten off and the claw never retracts; it tends to get caught, unintentionally, on things when she least expects it to.
Body:
Rippledance has scars lining her stomach, many from stumbling aimlessly through brambles while being chased by her brothers. Her fur there tends to hang in little rows, and looks very strange also. Also an 'x' shaped scar lies on her right hip. This from when a small group of rebellious cats in Riverclan tried to overtake the former leader. They branded their members with 'x's on their hips, and Rippledance was forced into it by her brothers. On the other hip is one shaped like an 'o' which was recieved when she made a little club as an apprentice. Her brothers were jealous and marked every member in her little posse with 'o's, copying their role models (the rebels, you know?).
Eyes:
Unusual Colorings Can Lead to Trouble:
Rippledance has beautiful yet strange eyes, but these were the cause of most of the mistreatment and beatings she received. One eye has a pretty cyan color that always seems joyous or excited. There are darker lines in it as well, and these are a lovely shade of indigo. They seem to explode out of the pupil like a firework in a night sky. This give the eyes the look of the ocean at sunset, when purple stains the skies and reflects on the waves.
Her right eye is different from her left and this difference is very obvious and pronounced. Her right eye is a very dark shade of blue, almost like the night sky on a cloudless night. You'd think the color difference would be enough, but it gets even stranger. Streaming through the blue of that eye are small rivers of silver. These encircle the pupil, like little crop circles in a field. They tend to gleam iridescently in the sunlight, more often than not, seeming more gold than silver. In the moonlight, though, they look far different. They gleam a bright silver and are very pronounced and visible when the moon is out. This makes it awfully hard to stalk things at night; her eyes always seem to give away her position.
Build
Proportion:
Rippledance is, for the most part, a very well-proportioned cat. Her head fits squarely on her shoulders and her legs aren't super long or super short (they are longer than average though). Her paws are large with thick pads on the bottom that are great for absorbing sound when she runs. They also prevent most thorns and pebbles from getting lodged in them. She does have a longer-than average tail, which measure maybe a mouse-length and a half longer than what it should be. This provides her with excellent balance while performing more complicated fighting moves, swimming, scaling ledges, or walking branches. She also tends to use her tail a a rudder while she swims, giving her better control than most.
Strength and Muscle:
This really depends on what part of her body you're talking about. Her hind legs are very strong allowing her to jump quickly and farther than many cats, but her core isn't as muscled. She is far from flabby or fat, just not very muscled. Her front legs aren't the most muscled either and tend to be slower than the rest of her body, making timing while fighting a little strange. Her jaw is fairly strong as well, and can easily break smaller bones in a cat's or predator's body, like the tail or forelegs. Rippledance has a very powerful haunches and uses those to pummel assailants with nasty blows to the stomach and head.
Other
Claws:
Rippledance has sharp claws on her forelegs, which tend to overcome their slowness, but her claws on her hind legs are dull. This is a result from jumping numerous times and wearing them down on the stone. Rather than getting sharper like many cats' claws do, this dulls them and they aren't much sharper than a dull pencil. Like stated earlier one claw doesn't retract and, in fact, the toe is barely attached to the foot. It really gets in the way and she's had many moments where it has gotten caught in an prey's or attacker's body. This cause extreme pain to both involved.

Teeth:
Rippledance has needle-like teeth, perfect matches to her powerful jaw. She uses them wisely and doesn't use them in an overly violent way when she does. They are not quite white, but not yellowed either, and are more in between. One of her canines (the fang-like teeth) is missing due to a severe blow to the mouth by a fox when she was a warrior. The gum still opens up on occasion, causing blood to spill everywhere, but Rippledance doesn't seem to care much. Also, the teeth are slightly, and when I say this I mean very slightly, transparent. You can see faint traces of veins that run into the tooth supplying its blood.
Personality
The Good
Rippledance is a very caring cat that loves to love and be loved. She is always there to help other cats when they're down and always tries to keep the clan's morale up, even when during harder times. She'll be the first one to suggest a hunting patrol on a bone-chilling day, the first one to jump into the river to save a kit, the first one to try to sort out a difficulty. She tries her hardest to seem presentable, even though that isn't one of her best traits. Rippledance is often admired by younger cats and even by some cats in other clans, despite being in a completely different clan. She likes the attention most of the time, but sometimes she needs some time alone. During her 'alone-times' she spends her time thinking, and thinking, and thinking. Always about ways to improve the clan. She is definitely out to keep the clan safe, healthy, and happy with as few road-bumps as possible.
The Bad
Now Rippledance does have a darker side. She is a very competitive cat and when she loses a challenge... she gets mad. She'll tear around, insulting cats or just seeming rude. She might start ranting at other for things they didn't do or didn't deserve to be ranted at for. You never want to catch her after losing something, because most likely you'll get beat up. Both physically and verbally. Also Rippledance's mind gets clouded when fighting and such, to the point where she pretty much loses track of everything around her. She could easily be attacked by another cat if she was locked in a battle with a different one. This leaves her fairly vulnerable on the battlefield. Also, when fighting, she never really knows when to stop, she pretty much goes crazy when battling it out. Most of the time Metalstar has to tell her to cool it and has to break things up.
Kits
Rippledance adores kits. She loves watching them goof off and tumble through the camp, playfully fighting with each other. But she can't stand them at the same time. They bring back so many bad memories of her kithood that, when in a not-so-great mood, she can't stand to even look at them. Though she finds them cute, she's not afraid to punish them if they deserve it or scold them either. She also tends to get way too protective over them, since she knows she can't have kits of her own, thanks to being deputy. If she finds that one could be in danger, she'll defend it fiercely.
Apprentices
Rippledance doesn't care much for apprentices. They're at that age where they don't really know right from wrong, harmless from harmful. They tend to annoy her with their constant rebellious attitudes and lack of respect for most other cats. She also hates their clique-like groups, in which some seem to be left out. She hates seeing this because she was there once. Looking back, she doesn't know how she really got through it but she did. Her fist apprentice didn't help either. He was a handful and never stopped interrupting and running off during lessons. This obviously didn't brighten her feeling towards apprentices. It made them worse.
Queens
Rippledance has a jealous side when it comes to queens. She wants to have her own kits, but knows she can't be deputy with kits, so she is very jealous that these cats get kits and she doesn't. She tries her best not to show it, because she wouldn't want to anger them, but occasionally you can tell that she's not happy with her situation. She still loves being deputy and doesn't ever want to give it up. Also, she finds queens fairly useless to her cause as they don't hunt or provide for the clan hardly at all. They just mooch off of what other warriors have done and don't provide for themselves. She just doesn't believe they are earning their keep very well, but every time she has to remind herself. Without kits the clan would die. Without queens there'd be no kits. Without queens there'd be no clan.
Younger Warriors
Annoying. One word. They always seem to be so dramatic. One moment they love this cat then the next moment they want to hurl them off a cliff. She comes so close to telling the to 'get a grip!' but hasn't yet. They are so protective of each other they'd probably try to beat her up if she insulted one of them. So Rippledance leaves them in their dramatic states, trying to get them to follow directions and actually participate. She will take any chance she gets, though, to punish them for things as she finds them so annoying.
Senior Warriors
Rippledance finds the senior warriors very admirable. They should be the ones kits look up to for advice and for a proper role model, but most of the time it's the younger warriors that get this admiration. She finds them great cats that understand how a clan runs and aren't drama queens or kings all day long. They deserve some sort of praise for that and they rarely get it. They always work for their clan, working their tails off every day, and Rippledance doesn't get why they don't get more admiration than they do. She treats these cats with utmost respect.
Elders
These cats can go either way. They tend to complain too much in Rippledance's opinion and they often go too far into detail when talking about the 'good old days.' She doesn't care much for the 'good old days' she's interested in the now, or the old battle stories of course. Those always get her hyped up. She dislikes how decrepit some seem and how broken down they are. She hates seeing cats in their older state because she knows, one day she'll be like that, unable to protect he clan, unable even to hunt her own food. She feels bad for the elders, but tries her best to make their elder years fun, just as she'd want them.
Medicine Cats
This group doesn't matter much to Rippledance. they did early in life when they saved her from her brothers, but now she doesn't care much for them. She knows they're important and all, but they just nag at her about things. Rip that ear off, let me amputate that silly toe, we need to get that tooth fixed. Rippledance just doesn't care for that healing crap and doesn't want to waste her time getting something fixed that doesn't need to be fixed. She tries to treat them nicely, but it doesn't always work too well.
Deputy
N/A
Leader
Metalstar... Rippledance finds her leader a very admirable cat and looks up to him a lot. She does listen to him when he speaks and tries her best to follow his orders, as she'd hate to have her position stripped. She knows his importance to the clan and would give her life for his despite him being older. Rippledance will occasionally disobey him, but only if she thinks it'd better help the clan or if she believes he's made an extremely poor descision, which rarely happens anyways. She does find him a little weird though... she doesn't know why. He just seems awkward and she sometimes teases him about things. She often tries to playfully push his buttons, maybe pounce on his tail or swipe his feet out from underneath him when he's least expecting it. It's always a joke though, never ever meant to harm him or anything along those lines.
Cats of Other Clans
Rippledance finds the clan boundaries somewhat ridiculous, but needed. She believes that all cats should live together in one large territory, avoiding both rivalry and squabbles over food. So due to this she doesn't mind other cats much. She'll talk to them and be nice... if it's the right time. When a cat sets a paw over her border she'll make them pay. Nice Rippledance goes away. During battles she won't pause if she needs to hurt a friend because to her, her clan is more important. So overall Rippledance is kind and gets along with other clans' cats, but when the times comes, she'll rip them to shreds without hesitation.
Cats Without Clans
We'll start with kittypets. Rippledance finds kittypets no threat at all, and believes them to be the lowest on the kitty totem pole. She believes that they should just sit in their nests all day, not coming outside to bother the clan cats. The last thing they need is a useless cat holding up the day's duties. She will certainly hurt one if it dares hold her up and will not show mercy just because most don't have the claws or the guts to defend themselves.
Next come the loners and rogues. Rippledance has had so many terrible encounters with rogues and loners that she has adapted more than hatred toward them. She would love to see them disappear as they've scarred her both mentally and physically. They've practically stolen the greater majority of her life from her. Rippledance shows no niceness to these groups and kills if they wander across her path. She tries to make their deaths rough, just in revenge for what they'd caused her, her family, and, more over, her clan.
History
Kithood
Rippledance was born in the middle of leaf-bare, an unusual time for kitting, to Firestream and Featherflare. She was born into a large litter of five, but two were very small and unhealthy. Though the medicine cat tried too save them the two, named Valiantkit and Bravekit for their fight for survival, passed away two days after birth. The three survivors were Ripplekit, Frozenkit, and Screechkit.
Firestream, Ripplekit's father was devastated that the two kits had died and was determined to make sure his other three lived. Secretly he began training the kits, before they were even close to becoming apprentices. He tried teaching them how to hunt, out behind the nursery in the dead of night. In order to do this though, he had to discipline them to great lengths so they wouldn't wake up the other cats in the camp.
They learned complicated fighting moves and how to catch fish, as well as techniques for combat and stalking. They were very well-behaved kits and were miraculously able to do a fair amount of what their father presented them, but he was too strict. He taught the boys more the Ripplekit and would yell and curse at them if they did things wrong. They were verbally abused for the majority of their kithood. This led to Freezekit and Screechkit getting fairly feisty and determined and eventually full of themselves, but Ripplekit, being far more feminine than them would cry and cry and cry.
Her brothers made fun of her when she cried and when nobody was looking they'd use her as practice for their attacking moves. They beat her and beat her and insulted her too. She was hurt multiple times and was never free of bruises, scratches, or wounds. She was always in pain and had very low self-esteem; her little kit body had a hard time handling everything they did to her. When she was nearing apprenticing, she ran away from the camp, trying to flee her brothers' torturing, but they chased after her and dragged her back by the tail and legs, not allowing her to stand.
Apprenticeship
When she was apprenticed, her mentor was a warrior by the name of Jaystrem. He was a very kind mentor for the first few weeks, but slowly he began to, more and more, resemble her father. To add to that, Screechpaw got the mentor she had wanted, Wolfstreak. Wolfstreak was a charming tom, fresh from becoming a warrior and had always been nice to Ripplepaw; put simply, she had a crush on him.
Jaystream was impressed with what Ripplepaw showed him at first, her father's training had put her far ahead of most apprentices. Still, Jaystream wasn't happy enough; her pushed her hard every day, training from nearly dawn till dusk with no breaks. Every day she was getting more tired, and more discouraged. The beatings by her brothers and verbal assaulting by her father didn't stop either. She was wasting away into a shriveled, uncaring, and pained shell of the cat she could've been.
About halfway through her apprenticing, Riverclan and Thunderclan got into a small dispute about some irrelevant issue. She fought in the battle and during that her own brothers began attacking her as if she were a Thunderclan cat. They knew exactly who they were attacking too. One blow by Frozenpaw left her lying in the battle field, blood running into her eyes and her mouth, the coppery taste staining her tongue. The scar from her ear to her jaw was received then, and, at first, the medicine cat thought it wouldn't heal properly and that it'd get infected. It did get infected and Ripplepaw was in tremendous pain for weeks.
During that battle, her beloved Wolfstreak had his throat punctured, and after a long-fought battle with death, he lost. Ripplepaw was completely devastated and almost sunk to running off again, the only thing that kept her there though was the threat of her brothers chasing her yet again. Her father was also killed in that battle, but she didn't care. In fact when his body was lying in the center of the camp she stalked defiantly up to it, swore that its soul would go to the Dark Forest, and spat on his face. She didn't care when her mother and Jaystream got angry at her and made her clean ticks from the elders' pelts, she was proud of what she did.
After that disgraceful act, her brothers tormented her further for ruining their father's body. They constantly bit her tail, leaving terrible wounds on it. Whenever the medicine cat asked where they came from, she'd cover for the two, afraid that if she told they'd hurt her even more. After another chase through the forest she got deep gashes from the brambles lining her choice of escape route. The brother dragged her back again, but she still has scars littering her belly from the spines on the vines.
During this time a new leader was needed, as the other, Iciclestar, was too old for the job and retired. Rather than letting his deputy be leader, he chose a different warrior. This defiance of the warrior code sparked a civil war-like conflict in Riverclan. A group of warriors upset with the choice, including the deputy, banded together and branded each other with 'x's showing their anger. They planned on attacking the leader and Ripplepaw was brought into it by her brothers, though she didn't support the group's cause.
Trying to seek protection from her brothers, Ripplepaw got together a group of friends and made a little posse. They were able to fight off the defiant brothers and Ripplepaw was free of her torture for quite a time, but after her friends and Ripplepaw had fallen asleep they crept to their beds of moss and gashed deep circles in their hips, copying the group they belonged to. Ripplepaw's friends got angry at her and quit talking to her. She was left open to her brothers' beatings yet again.
The group of rebels attacked early one morning, but nearly half chickened out and fought for the other side; this group included Ripplepaw, but her brothers remained with the rebels. They fought for hours, blood staining the ground and crusting to Ripplepaw's fur. Finally the rebels lost, scattering into the surrounding area, knowing that they couldn't return. Among the numerous bodies of the dead lay her two brothers. Frozenpaw was just barely alive while Screechpaw was deader than a rock. In his last words Frozenpaw apologized, saying that he had a problem. Ripplepaw was, for once in her life, sad that her brother was hurt, and she could tell that his apology was genuine. He died in the dead of night, under Ripplepaw's head.
Warrior-hood
Ripplepaw underwent her warrior-ceremony just days after the battle between rebels and clan cats. She was given the name Rippledance and was fairly happy with herself, though she was actually sad that her brothers had died. After all they had done to her, she was still their sister and she still loved them. She was so happy to be free of Jaystream's constant battering and she was so ready to be a warrior. She took her jobs more seriously than the others and remained friend-less fro quite a time, thanks to her brothers' little stunt.
About ten moons after her ceremony she was on a dawn patrol with the deputy and her second apprentice, Gravelpaw, when they stumbled upon a badger set. With the badger in it. It rambled out of the set, angry and defensive, and began to attack the patrol. Rippledance had her ear ripped partially off and her apprentice was thrown violently against a tree. She felt enraged and began tearing at the creature. She had her other ear torn as well, but managed, somehow, to sink her claws deep into its windpipe just before it clamped its jaws around her throat.
It collapsed lifeless and she was terrified when she saw the remainders of the deputy on the ground. It was a horrible sight, his body ripped up on the dirt, but she couldn't help him then. She ran to Gravelpaw's side and found him breathing shallowly with a rip in his side. She had to carry him, over her shoulder, all the way back to Riverclan's camp. There she dropped hiim off with the medicine cat and, though she wanted to stay, she had to retrieve the deputy's body. When she got back, she found that Gravelpaw had died. To her great surprise Metalstar appointed her deputy, and she doesn't quite understand why. There were many more experienced warriors that could've been deputy but he chose her.
