Kristen Shanua carefully placed the soda can on the end table next to the main couch, and sat herself down on the comfy cushions and pillows. Sunlight poured through the large window to her left and the fireplace lay cold and quiet on the other side of the coffee table that sat in front of her. The bookshelves were on the opposite side of the room today and she was sure there was a different color of paint on the ceiling.
For some reason, the other Sophomores changing the room around didn't bother her. It was oddly nice to get to know the same room over and over again. To be quite honest, she didn't know if it was really the other Sophomores that moved things around. It could be the teachers or maybe small gnomes or goblins, or perhaps! Even Brownies.
The thought of Brownies, those delightful creatures who so loved people, made her squeal with happiness. It had been some time since she had met one, and she hoped that they were alright and not in the middle of some terrible war.
Kristen had carried with her not only a soda, but her messenger bag that she had stocked full of new books to read. She dug around until she found an interesting one titled: The Lion in Winter. She had always wanted to read plays, but they never caught her interest enough to do so. Now she would buckle down and make a dream come true!
"But first! Some so---" Her hand reached to the end table as she opened the small red book. "--da?" Nothing. Her hand simply went straight to the table lamp's base. She looked to the table. Just a lamp and her hand. "...." Her mouth hung ever slightly open and her face told the thoughts in her head. Darn those gnomes/goblins/brownies!! Kristen's eye twitched and she brought her hand to her lap. That was the second soda they had taken from her in the past month. She had to have a word with the Headmaster soon or else they may take something else!
The pink haired elf mumbled as she started reading The Lion in Winter, pulling her legs up to her chest to make herself more comfortable. She could last without a soda. She'd just go and get another, this time holding it in her hand while she read. Yesss...
